How is it still January?

Hello, lovely readers!
How is it still January? It's my birthday month, so I hate to hurry it along, but it does seem like it's dragged on about 238 extra days. Ta-ta for now!
Personally, I'm excited about Valentine's day. Does that seem out of character? I've never really loved it, but this year, I'll be on a little trip with my main squeeze. But I'm also excited to celebrate it with my kids before I go. Kids are so easy to please when it comes to holidays--at least, when they're little. I can get them a little heart-shaped box of candy and a tiny teddy bear, and they're over-the-moon.
I think when we get older that we often forget about the value of simple pleasures. For me, reading is one of them--although writing severely cuts into my actual reading time these days. If reading is a pleasure for you, I've got a few picks for the week you might want to catch up on. But I'm also going to give you a peek into my TBR (to be read) pile and some of my favorite books.
Enjoy the simple pleasures. Savor your copy. Stop wasting time on books you don't love and read something you enjoy. Go for a walk. Take a nap.
Live your life, and love every minute of it.

Right on Walton is now available for pre-order! (See below for the link)
Lindy Carver can really get behind the idea that the future is female. After all, she’s taking family planning into her own hands as she approaches 40 with no relationship in sight. A passionate artist and fierce feminist, Lindy knows that she’s capable of creating exactly the life she wants, even if she has to do it alone. Dean Walton has elevated casual dating to an art form, having escaped a dysfunctional childhood with no intention of repeating those patterns in his future. He’s known Lindy forever, but lately, tension has grown between them that has nothing to do with annoyance. As their relationship heats up, their careful plans go sideways, and Dean’s reputation may just come back to haunt them. Right on Walton is the second book in the Heart of Madison series.
Deep in the Heart of Madison will be out in September.
Waiting for the Girl Next Door will drop April of 2021.
If you've read and enjoyed Left on Main, please leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads TIA!
Medium subscribers can clap up to 50 times to support their favorite writers, but instead of just clocking claps, Medium now tracks READING time. So, if you're in a story, be sure to read rather than skim to make sure the author (in this case, ME) gets credit. Subscriptions are $4.99/month and directly go to paying writers for our work.
No subscription? No problem! If you run out of free reads, I'm always happy to provide a friend link so you can read for free.
