News from Crystal Jackson, Writer

Hello, Readers.
Here in Georgia, we'll likely need boats if we plan to get out and about. Once again, we're facing days of rain, and the beautiful weekend sunshine has me longing for the Spring days ahead when venturing outdoors is a hopeful possibility. Right now, the only chance of going outside involves umbrellas and rain boots. While jumping in muddy puddles totally makes my normal to-do list, I suspend that option in the freezing cold.
Still, it's all about perspective. Since I can't go outside without getting soggy, I'm switching gears. The darkness may not seem as inviting as a sunshiny day, but it can be. I lit candles, turned on fairy lights, and made an extra cozy space for work today. I think I'll start with coffee and a slow yoga flow. Maybe I'll put on a record while I work and enjoy the quiet that comes with a rainy day when the whole world wants to stay indoors.
Wherever you spend your day, you can choose the attitude and perspective you'll have living it. I hope you choose one that brings you comfort and joy. While you're enjoying a cozy day in whatever weather, I hope you read something you love.
To that end, I've attached a few stories I've written that I think you might enjoy. You can also grab a copy of Left on Main at your local bookstore or on Amazon. You'll want to go ahead and read it before the second book in the Heart of Madison series, Right on Walton, comes out April 30th
Screen-shot or take a photo of your receipt if you place a pre-order for Right on Walton. I'm going to be doing a drawing for a coffee gift card for anyone who pre-ordered my latest book. Stay tuned on Facebook for the announcement, and you're welcome to email or message me yours to make sure your name is included in the drawing no matter when I have it.
Happy Reading!

If You Don't See the Beauty, You Aren't Paying Attention "The woman who serves my food at the sandwich shop has on a dress as unusual as it is fantastic. Multi-colored, sparkly, and are those goldfish in the pattern? Maybe she’s magic. Maybe she’s brightening a gray day in the only way that she can. I don’t really care because it doesn’t matter. The dress is hers. The story is mine."

"Lately, I’ve experienced a different kind of settling, and it’s not at all what you might be thinking."

The Giant Time Suck of Meetings
"Most office meetings are a huge waste of time. Everyone knows this except management, and they’re just pretending not to know it to comply with some sadistic need by upper management to exert dominance by forcing departments like cattle into a room to listen to boring updates that could have been put in a memo and emailed out to people who can read for themselves. If we’re lucky, there are snacks."

Drop Everything and Jump in Puddles
"Had I been less quick to seize the day, we might have missed it altogether."
