News from Crystal Jackson, Writer

Hello, Readers.
So … a few sunny days happened, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I enjoyed every single minute of them. Because the rain is back. Again. (Cue silent screaming)
It's a good day for, you guessed it, READING!
So, let's take a look at a few recent articles I published on Medium. Also, if fiction is more your thing, don't forget to snag your copy of Left on Main and read it before Right on Walton releases on April 30th.
Just a quick word about the second book in the Heart of Madison series: You should totally pre-order it. Why? Pre-orders help you lock in the best price and lets you have it on the very day it comes out. No wait! You can also pre-order from your local bookstore.
Okay, that's enough from me for now. Go have the best week ever!
Happy Reading!

I saw these beauties while hiking at the State Botanical Gardens in Athens, Georgia.

"You’ve watched me break down into pieces. Fall apart. Recover. Fall again. With a curious eye or a judgmental one. Or maybe eating popcorn, my life little more than entertainment to you. My pain, as entertainment.
So, I monetized the pain. Turned my downward spiral into words. Turned my words into stories. Spun words into rent money and new shoes for growing children.
I created life. Channeled characters. Shaped worlds. And I told my story, even the ones that made me look stupid. Even the ones that made me look weak. I shared them. Then, I shared them again. I kept saying the words so that I would understand that I could never go back to being broken.
I said the words until they made me stronger. I said the words until they made me brave. I said the words until my voice split, cracked, dried up, and went away. I rested, and then I said the words again."

"We’re trying, and if we struggle more than we succeed, that’s a part of the growth process, too. But acceptance, surrender, forgiveness, and even flexibility all play a part in being kind to ourselves, whatever the journey. Whether we’re trying to grow or struggling to keep a practice alive, this matters. It’s important to yoga, absolutely. But it’s also important to life."
