News from Crystal Jackson, Writer

Hello, Readers.
I hope you're all safe, wherever you are. COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) has many of us working from home and even homeschooling right now while we try to limit the spread of the virus. While we don't need to panic, we definitely do need to be cautious. CDC updates recommend social distancing, hand washing, and staying home if we're at all unwell. In short, they want us to stay put and wash our hands.
Unfortunately, many are treating this as a mini-vacation and heading to local restaurants, coffee shops, and bars to hang out. It's not the time to hang out. It's the time to go home. For introverts, I don't have to tell you twice. Actually, I didn't have to tell you once. You're already cozied up at home, happily retreating from the world. For those who feel stressed at the idea of staying home and being isolated, it's a great time to catch up on your shows, reading, and social media. Reach out and touch someone--virtually, that is.
While you're cozied up at home wondering when toilet paper will be back in stock, I'm offering some reading material. Mostly mine, but a few are good reads from other authors that you might enjoy. Some of this deals directly with COVID-19 and some of it doesn't. I hope you stay safe, take good care of yourself, and don't forget to wash your hands.
Happy Reading!

"I’ll be honest and just say, for the record, that this would have been so much easier when I thought I was an introvert. Recent evidence, however, has so thoroughly refuted my previous assumption that I can no longer own that label. Even though I know I’m not an introvert (I’m owning “ambivert” until further notice), the idea of forced social isolation — distancing is the word that’s being volleyed around — is daunting.
While I love my home, the thought of staying there for a solid week brings to mind instant cabin fever. But when we’re dealing with pandemics, plagues, or a zombie apocalypse, containing and preventing infection becomes more important than anything else.
With this in mind, I decided we might need a guide to social distancing."

Because we still need humor--even during a crisis

"Once we stop seeing jealousy and possession as evidence of romance, we recognize them as the red flags they always were."

Love in the Time of Coronavirus: Social distancing, Netflix and opening our hearts to real relationships
“Love is Blind” is trashy and wonderful and everything that dreams are made of in 2020, which so far seems to be dominated by similar themes: time is running out, walls are going up everywhere between different groups of people, and can we learn to love each other before we all die?
