Is it too early to put up my Christmas tree, and other thoughts from a writer

Hello, Readers.
It's June. Wasn't it just January? Is it too early to put up a Christmas tree? Asking for a friend.
This week (month? year?) has been heavy. I hope you're all keeping safe, speaking out against injustice, and adding some extra self-care time to your daily routine. I think we all need it.
The world is burning, and every day I feel like I woke up in one of those post-apocalyptic movies I always enjoyed but now may watch with a little more reverence and respect. If we let it, we could really think that the world is a terrible place to live.
But I go for walks every day. I see flowers in bloom and fat bumblebees minding their own business. I see blue skies and white clouds meant for dreaming. The world is beautiful. It has coffee and books and laughter and puppies. And did I mention coffee??? It's a wonderful place that we too often take for granted.
So, we think instead that maybe it's the humans messing it all up. But people are born to love and connect. They are taught to hate. I hope we can learn to love and teach a whole new generation how to be better as we learn it ourselves.
Don't worry; I'm not climbing up on my soapbox. I hope you love each other a little harder today. I hope you find a way to give yourself some extra care this week. I hope you find time to read and to enjoy this life we're living--even if all you do is go for a walk and enjoy flowers in bloom.
Happy reading and lots of love,
Crystal

Advice on Marriage from the Divorced

The Danger of Emotional Bypassing
It’s easy to point to spiritual and emotional bypassing when other people do it to us. It’s every time we voice our grief and someone else tells us to check our privilege because they have it so much worse. It’s speaking of our struggle and being directed toward a generic spiritual platitude. We are silenced, and we know it doesn’t feel good.
But too often, the voice silencing us is our own.

Answer One Question to Find Out if the One You’re With is Right for You
"I do believe that there’s one simple question we can ask ourselves to determine if someone we’re interested in or dating is the right match for us. One question. It’s so simple you’ll wonder why you didn’t see it. Or, perhaps, so obvious you’ll wonder why anyone would overlook it."
