Finding the Courage to Begin the Tough Conversations
Recent reads, upcoming signings, and Fall favorites

Hello, beautiful readers!
Recently, I wrote an essay entitled Finding the Courage to Begin the Tough Conversations. It took courage to write about finding the courage to have tough conversations. I’m still a work in progress.
“We need to remember the kind of relationships we want to find the courage to begin those tough conversations. The things we don’t address now won’t miraculously disappear — they’ll just grow over time, perhaps becoming larger the longer we try to ignore them.
I want the air clear so that love has a chance to breathe.”
There’s a misconception that writers write about other people, but I know that I am endlessly writing about myself. Frida Kahlo once said, “I am my own muse. I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to better.”
If you can relate to much of what you read it’s because speaking our truth connects us to each other. My life isn’t yours, and yours isn’t mine, but we share commonalities. It can be easy to divide ourselves by our differences rather than unite in our shared humanity.
Here are some of the things I’ve written about in the past week:

In Book News …

My third book in the Heart of Madison series is out! I wasn’t able to have a release party for the last book (Right on Walton) or for this one (Deep in the Heart of Madison), but I do have two upcoming signings!
On November 7th, I’ll be at In High Cotton signing my work during Madison, Georgia’s Shop, Sip, & Stroll. The following weekend on November 14th, you’ll find me at a joint book signing with author Tarrant Smith at the Madison Artist’s Guild Gallery. I’ll have copies of all three released books from the Heart of Madison series as well as My Words Are Whiskey, my first poetry collection featuring the art of Christina Nicole.
For locals, my work is now available in Madison at In High Cotton, MAGallery, and Madison Square Nutrition. You can also find copies of my books at The Art Box in Monticello, Georgia.
If you’ve read my books and enjoyed them, please take the time to leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads. This helps the sites suggest my work to other readers.
Be sure to follow me on Medium, Facebook, and Instagram for more updates, amazing memes, and probably a ton of puppy pictures starting next week.
Thanks so much for your support!
I’m wishing you health, happiness, and good books!
