I don't mind choosing based on attraction as the first layer of the decision, but I don't like that so many people skip the profiles. Most of us painstakingly write them, and then people don't read them. That's what I find cringe-worthy. Attraction is just one level. I can find someone attractive, read their profile, and revise that opinion quickly.
