I see your point, but I think giving them the benefit of the doubt means that we don’t jump to conclusions or make assumptions but talk to them about it instead. That IS the benefit of the doubt. It doesn’t mean we assume something positive and run with it. It means we have a discussion about whatever we’re concerned about.
