Good morning!
I am three days into an online promotional tour for my Heart of Madison series from Enticing Journeys Book Promotions. Several book bloggers are busy promoting my work, and I’m also getting new reviews. If you want to give a gift to an author this holiday season, I suggest leaving a nice review—even for the big names you don’t think really need more reviews. (Trust me: they do!)
The last couple of weeks have been personally challenging for me. We added a puppy to our family, and I’ve been busy wrapping my head around housetraining and teaching my adorable Welsh Terrier not to chew on everything he touches (including us). If you want to fangirl over his cute wittle face, you can follow him on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/sullythewelshie.
But that’s been more blessing than a challenge. Lately, I’ve been pivoting to new writing projects and really missing fiction writing and my half-finished manuscript. The year has been too challenging for me to get back to it.
In other random news, you may have noticed that there are now ads on my website. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of ads, so I’ve chosen ones that represent companies I actually like. You’ll see discount deals for Ellie activewear as well as Scholastic books. I’ve kept it to the bottom, out of the way of actual content. I don’t want to annoy visitors to my site with overwhelming ads.
As grateful as I am for the life that I’ve built, this year has been all about the hustle and the side hustle and the side-side hustle when all I’ve wanted to do is curl up on the couch in the fetal position and live vicariously through Hallmark movies. (Believe me: it’s a whole mood this year.)
Or take a long bath and catch up on my extensive TBR pile (I’m about to start reading Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. Also, if you want to try out bath bombs with rings inside, I’m an affiliate for Bubbly Belle. My kids and I both love their bath bombs.)
With that being said, I’m still here. I’m still writing. And every single day, I appreciate your support.
Here’s what’s new over the last couple of weeks that you may have missed:
Life is Short. Burn the Bridge. “When we pressure people to continue relationships that they find harmful, we are threatening their mental health and very existence. We are making it clear that our desires are more important than their peace.”
We Can’t Make Someone Love Us— Why Would We Want To Anyway? “We deserve better than having to beg for scraps of love. We deserve relationships where we love and know that we are loved in return. Healthy relationships include reciprocity.”
Quieting the Mental Chatter for Healthier, Happier Relationships “What we think isn’t always the truth. What we feel doesn’t always represent what’s happening.”
Say Yes to the Mess: A Lover’s Guide “Even knowing that risking love means risking a broken heart, it seems that I will always choose to live bravely rather than to survive safely.”
Later today, you can read I Was the One Who Got Away. Come back tomorrow on Medium for Just Say I Do, a pandemic love story for Fiction Friday.
Next week, we roll into Thanksgiving. Can you believe it??? I can’t. But I will totally be the one putting up my Christmas tree before Thanksgiving rolls around because we could all use more joy in our lives (also: twinkly lights).
I’m thankful for YOU!
Have an amazing rest of your week and a beautiful weekend!
XO
Crystal
