Ballerinas twirl in an ice cream swirl
Unsteady foals of an early age
The song they play compels me back
To the same tune on another stage
I close my eyes and breathe you in
Feel your arm brush against my own
Then open them and taste my tears
In the dark and all alone
A pirouette, a solo dance
